Who we are
subding is run by a small independent team in the United Kingdom. There is no registered company behind it yet, so these terms are an agreement between you and the people who operate the service. Throughout this page, "we", "us" and "our" mean subding, and "you" means the person or business using it. subding is not affiliated with Reddit, Inc.
What subding does
subding is a keyword-alert service for Reddit. You give it keywords, it watches public posts and comments, and it pings you in Slack, Discord, email or a webhook the moment one comes up. It shows you the conversation and links you straight to it. It is read-and-notify: it never posts, comments, votes or sends messages on Reddit, and it cannot promise you a mention, a reply or any particular result.
One thing to be upfront about: subding depends on access to Reddit that sits outside our control. Reddit can change or withdraw that access whenever it likes, and if it does, parts of subding may have to change or stop. We will always do our best, but we cannot promise uninterrupted coverage of Reddit.
Your account
To use subding you need to be at least 18 and give accurate details when you sign up. You are responsible for keeping your login safe and for everything that happens under your account, so tell us quickly if you think someone else has got in. Sign-up and login live on app.subding.com.
The free trial
New accounts get a 7-day free trial with no card required. Nothing is charged during the trial, and nothing charges automatically when it ends. If you want to carry on afterwards, you pick a plan and pay for it then.
Plans and payment
Paid plans are billed monthly in US dollars: $19, $49 or $149 a month. The plans differ only in how many keywords you can track; every feature is on every plan. Your subscription renews each month until you cancel.
You can cancel any time from your account, and your access runs to the end of the month you have already paid for. We do not usually refund part-months, but if something has genuinely gone wrong, email us and we will be fair about it. We may change our prices from time to time; if we do, we will give you notice and the new price applies from your next renewal, never mid-month.
Acceptable use
You agree to use subding lawfully and within the rules and policies published by Reddit. In particular, you must not use it to monitor sensitive people or events, to profile people by things like their health, politics or beliefs, to scrape or resell Reddit content, or to automate activity on Reddit. The full set of rules is in our Acceptable Use Policy, which forms part of these terms. Breaking it can cost you your account.
What you do on Reddit
subding tells you about conversations. What you do next is on you. If you join a thread, do it honestly and within the rules of that community: say who you are, do not spam, and do not use fake accounts. We are the awareness layer, the words you post are yours, and you are responsible for them.
Reddit content and ownership
The posts and comments subding surfaces belong to the people who wrote them and to Reddit. We show you limited excerpts with a link back and the author's username so you can read the original in place. You get no ownership of that content, and you must respect the rights and the rules attached to it.
The subding name, the site, the brand and the software behind it are ours. Please do not copy, reuse or pass them off as your own without our permission.
Other services
subding works alongside Reddit, Slack, Discord, email and any webhook endpoint you point it at. We do not control those services and we are not responsible for them; your use of each is governed by its own terms.
Availability and "as is"
We aim for a reliable, useful service, but subding is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or free of errors, or that it will catch every relevant conversation on Reddit. It is a tool that helps you listen, not a guarantee that you will hear everything.
Our liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits, lost business, or opportunities you feel you missed. Where we are liable, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the problem arose. None of this limits liability that cannot legally be limited, such as for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.
Suspending or ending your account
You can stop using subding whenever you like by cancelling. We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, or where we are required to for legal or safety reasons. If access to Reddit ends for reasons outside our control, we may have to change or wind the service down; if that ever happens, we will tell you honestly and in good time.
Changes to these terms
These terms will change as subding grows. When they do, we will update the date at the top and flag anything significant. Carrying on using subding after a change means you accept the updated terms.
The law that applies
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any dispute goes to the courts of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, you keep any protections the law of your home country gives you that cannot be signed away.
